Are your classes in English and Spanish? How can I tell what language the teacher speaks?
All of our teachers are fluent in English and most are able to lead classes in English, Spanish and/or "Spanglish" (a mix of both). Check next to the name of the teacher for each class to find their preferred language - ENG (for English) and ESP (for Spanish). And please do tell your teacher which you're more comfortable with before class begins!
Can I do yoga if I have a medical condition or previous injury?
Yes! Please talk to the instructor about any existing physical conditions and concerns you may have prior to the start of class. Yoga benefits many people with chronic issues by helping the body regain it's balance between strength and flexibility, movement and awareness. If you are under a doctor’s care for an acute situation, please be sure to discuss taking yoga classes with him or her.
Can men join a yoga class?
Absolutely! Men are more than welcome to join any/all our classes.
It's a myth that only women practice yoga, and we have many male students who practice with us on a regular basis. All genders and body types are always encouraged to join us to experience the incredible benefits of yoga.
I am pregnant, can I join a regular yoga class?
If possible, be sure to join our prenatal yoga class! You're more than welcome to join other classes, just make sure to let your instructor know you are pregnant and avoid twisting, inversions, abdominal strengthening pose and lying on your belly. Remember, balancing poses may get tougher as you progress in your pregnancy so use the wall or blocks to keep yourself balanced. Drink plenty of water and take bathroom breaks whenever needed!
I have never done yoga before, which of your classes are good for beginners?
All of our classes are designed to be accessible for every level of experience, including beginners. However here's a list of the best for those just starting their yoga journey.
- Yoga Basics: Perfect for beginners, this class is designed to provide a solid foundation of yoga poses and breathing techniques to start your practice.
- Stretch & Strengthen: A moderate to low intensity Yin/Yang class that strengthens parts of the body before stretching them out.
- Yin Stretch & Release: A gentle and relaxing yin class designed to increase flexibility and relaxation with long holds of calming poses.
I'm not strong or flexible, can I do yoga?
If you can breathe, you can do yoga! It is a misunderstanding that you have to be flexible or strong to do yoga. We work on many levels including the body, the breath and the mind in every class. You will find yourself becoming more flexible and strong as you continue to practice yoga!
What if I have to cancel my class? What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that life happens and you may need to cancel a class. However, to ensure that we can accommodate all of our students and provide the best possible experience for everyone, we kindly ask that you cancel at least four hours before your scheduled class. As per our policy, if classes are not canceled at least four hours in advance, one class will be deducted from your package. If you do not have an active package, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 300 MXN the next time you visit the studio.
What should I bring/wear to yoga class?
We provide mats, towels and water at no additional cost. You'll be most comfortable wearing work out clothes - stretchy yoga pants and a loose top are always a great choice!
A water bottle is encouraged and you're welcome to bring your own yoga mat if you'd like. All other equipment and props are provided.
Which class is best for me? Can you help me choose?
Beginners are encouraged to join Yoga Basics for an introduction to basic yoga poses and breathing techniques. Stretch & Strengthen (yin/yang) and Stretch & Release (yin) are also perfect for students just starting their practice. Once you can confidently identify a few poses and feel like you're ready to do them in a faster-paced sequence, then Flow is the class for you! Our Level Up/Power Flow classes are for those with a steady practice who are ready to grow and learn more advanced poses like inversions and arm balances!
